"Okahara" in the katakura (poetry) poem is written as "Himehara," referring to the area on the north bank of the Kizu River, which flows through Sōraku County, Kyoto Prefecture. The ancient capital of Kunikyo was once located here, and Emperor Shomu relocated it from Heijō-kyō in 740. The Manyoshu (Manyoshu) describes this area as "a place where flowers bloom in spring and leaves fall in autumn." Kokura Sanso's "Kyoto Fukiyose Ishihara" depicts the love story of a feudal lord and princess as they journey through the four seasons on the beautiful Okahara plains with colorful and diverse sweets. Enjoy these sweets that evoke deep emotions and the changing seasons.
