Japanese Bamboo Matcha Whisk (Chasen) – 100 Prong

A bamboo matcha whisk is the best traditional tool for making  matcha green tea. It works much better than using a spoon or any other type of stirring stick. After mixing matcha powder to dissolve it into hot water, the whisk is used to whisk it into a froth.

Our bamboo whisks come from the famous green tea region, Anji County in Zhejiang Province. Anji is also famous for growing many different types of bamboo. Good quality bamboo is chosen and dried and sliced into very thin strips to create the bristles. More bristles can help the matcha powder completely dissolve, and will create more foam on the surface as you whisk the matcha into the water.

Bamboo whisks have a long history for use in tea making, but are now only used for making matcha.
