How to Prepare Matcha

1. Soak the bamboo tines in warm water for about 30–60 seconds to soften them.
2. Sift matcha into a bowl and add water at the temperature recommended for your tea.
3. Hold the whisk lightly and move it rapidly in a W or M motion without pressing the tines hard against the bowl.
4. Finish with gentle strokes across the surface to refine the foam, then lift the whisk from the center.

Care & Safety

• Rinse promptly with clean water after use. Do not use dish detergent or a dishwasher.
• Shake off excess water and allow the whisk to dry completely in a well-ventilated place, preferably on a chasen holder.
• Do not seal a damp whisk inside the plastic tube; trapped moisture can cause mold.
• Inspect the tines before and after every use. Discontinue use if bamboo tips crack or break.
• Natural bamboo may show variations in color, grain and tine shape.
